June Monthly Report

June 2015 Monthly Report

Welcome to my latest monthly report. June was a great month and am really pleased with my progress. I've been able to produce some great content that I'm really proud of and the feedback has been awesome. Most notably I'm now very clear on my future plans of where I want my website to be and have planned out my first major product release (more on this below).

KEY STATS

  • I spent approximately 57.5 hours this month working on my website, blogging, producing content and planning my future projects. That works out at about 14 hours a week (very similar to last month).
  • My email subscribers are now sitting at 1,638 which is about 49% growth on where I was last month.
  • Website sessions are up over 22% and users up over 28%.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Buffer Guest Post

This month I was able to guest post on the Buffer blog. For those who don't know, Buffer has one of the best social media and online market blogs around and it was a real honour to write for their website. My guest post: “7 Top Marketing Podcasts and the Lessons They've Taught Me” received 33 comments, 587 Tweets, 124 likes and 57 +s which I'm really pleased with. It was great to get in front of the Buffer community and share some ideas.

2. Run Your Business with Asana

Among other content, I started a blog post series aimed at helping businesses to get their teams set up on Asana and have published two posts so far:

» Why You Should Run Your Business with Asana

» Step-by-Step: Moving Your Company to Asana

I'm really proud of these two blog posts and think they're really going to help companies. At Mighty Ape we've really benefited from using Asana and I just hope I can help other companies do the same. I'll be releasing a few more posts this month to offer a few more tips and conclude this series.

My hope is that later this year I'll be able to take these posts and put together a set of resources to help companies get their teams set up on Asana.

3. Announcing: The Personal Productivity Toolkit

The-Personal-Productivity-Handbook-Book-Cover-(3D) V2

Ever since launching my website I've been working towards the release of an online course to help people be more productive. I created the 6-Week Productivity Program as an extension of my 7-Day Productivity Plan to accomplish this. Over the last few months I've been testing the course with a few beta users. The feedback has been really positive and those that tried my course enjoyed and benefited from it.

In June I changed my strategy on what I was going to ultimately create – instead of releasing just a series of videos, I would release a complete “toolkit” of resources to deliver the course. The Personal Productivity Toolkit (name TBC) will contain an ebook/audiobook that is supported by video content, worksheets, templates, interviews and other resources. I also want to create a complete checklist to support the course i.e. students can follow the checklist and use it to implement each of the recommended action steps. By completing this checklist and implementing the action steps you can ultimately become a much more productive person.

I'm now planning the content of the toolkit and will begin work on it later this month.

OTHER STUFF

I read Becoming Steve Jobs by Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzeli. As an Apple fan I really enjoyed this book and learned a tonne more about the brilliant man that was Steve Jobs. I'm now reading Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance and loving it!

I highly recommend both of these books – check them out and have a great month!
