6 Podcasts I’m currently enjoying [TPP #84]

I often get asked to give recommendations on books to read or podcasts to listen to. In this post, I’d like to share some podcasts I’ve recently been enjoying. I often find that when I discover a new show, I’ll listen to it for a while then lose interest and get bored. Listed below are the shows I’ve been listening to most consistently over the last few months and years. These are the shows I’m most excited about when new episodes come out.

Don't want to read this post? Listen here:

1. Reply All

Reply All, by Gimlet Media, is a show about the internet. But don’t be fooled into thinking it’s just another “tech podcast”. Reply All shares some fascinating stories about technology, the internet and the challenges they often present.

Some of my favourite episodes over the last few months include:

2. Mac Power Users

I’ve been listening to Mac Power Users (by Relay FM) for the past few years and never miss an episode. Hosts David Sparks and Katie Floyd share practical advice on how to take your Mac skills to the next level. I can honestly say that this podcast has had one of the biggest impacts on my personal efficiency.

Some of my favourite episodes include:

3. Free Agents

Free Agents (also by Relay FM) is hosted by former Macworld editor Jason Snell and David Sparks. David and Jason share stories and advice on how to “succeed as an independent worker in a digital world”. For small business owners and freelancers, this is a great podcast filled with practical tips and advice.

My favourite episodes include:

4. Fizzle

Fizzle is another business podcast I’ve been listening to for the last few years. As well as being incredibly entertaining, I’ve learned some incredibly valuable business lessons from the guys at Fizzle. Over the years I’ve listened to a tonne of business podcasts including all the greats but Fizzle is the show I’ve stuck with the longest.

Check out the following episodes:

5. The Pitch

The Pitch by Gimlet Media is a Dragon’s Den style pitch show where real startups pitch to real investors. I love hearing the new ideas and playing the role of the investor as I listen to try and decide whether I would invest. If you ever enjoyed Dragon’s Den on TV, then check out The Pitch.

6. The Vergecast

Finally, we have The Vergecast. This is a tech news podcast where editors from The Verge share the latest developments from the world of tech. As a tech geek, I love keeping up with recent product releases, innovations and tech biz news. Check out The Vergecast to get your tech news fix.

Hopefully, this gives you a flavour fo the kind of shows I like. Have any recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments below!
