Getting organised

I don’t know about you, but I find there’s something incredibly satisfying about sorting through your todo list. I was just going through my various Asana projects, reviewing tasks, planning upcoming projects and getting clear on my current priorities and I feel that going through this process lifts a huge mental weight off your shoulders.

Part of the benefit is that you get all these thoughts and ideas out of your head. So you no longer have to worry about remembering what to do or your next steps. It’s also really nice to have everything visualised in front of you. I find that getting everything into Asana (or whatever to do list you use) makes it easier to make sense of your workload and move forward.

With this in mind, if you ever find yourself feeling overwhelmed or unfocused. Try organising your own todo list:

  • Review your existing tasks.
  • Delete anything that’s no longer a priority.
  • Get clear on your due dates.
  • Add new tasks and projects as needed.
  • Use subtasks to write down a clear list of next steps for your bigger tasks.

You’ll be amazed at how taking just a few minutes to prune and update your todo list can work wonders for your sense of organisation.
