January 2016 Monthly Report

Welcome to my first monthly report of 2016. I can’t believe January has already come to an end; this year is flying by already! Even more reason to find new ways to be super productive and get stuff done!

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

I had some awesome successes on Reddit

After I published my blog post: 50 Hacks to Plan, Organise and Get More Done, I submitted a link to the r/productivity sub-Reddit and had some great success. The link received 47 upvotes and the page has had a total of 12,215 page views (as at the time I write this). Not bad!

I also published another article, How to be Productive: An In-Depth Guide which recieved 21 upvotes and had 996 page vies (if you could view it now to push it to over 1,000 that would be awesome!)

I setup a new sales funnel for the Personal Productivity Toolkit

I made some nice back-end improvements to my email automation series which promotes my Personal Productivity Toolkit. If you’re an existing subscriber of my email newsletter, this won’t mean much to you. But for new subscribers, this means I have a much better sales process set up. It’s all being tested now and I’ll be improving on the sales copy and the marketing behind the Personal Productivity Toolkit over the next few weeks/months.

I Survived my first month of CrossFit

This year I started CrossFit. This actually started as a way of getting better at running (check out Unbreakable Runner) and I quickly found a hidden passion for CrossFit.

I’m loving the physical and mental challenge that comes from doing high-intensity workouts. I have to admit, I used to just go to the gym and was pretty lazy. I wouldn’t push myself and to be honest, it wasn’t a good use of time.

I’ve already started to notice some benefits from the intense CrossFit workouts. I feel tighter and more defined and my overall physical and cardiovasular strength are improving each week.

Hayley and I are buying an investment property

A few days ago Hayley and I made an offer on a property which we intend to buy as an investment.

This is still conditional on a few things but we’re hoping to have everything sorted in the new week or so and we will (hopefully) be settling in March. Touch wood…

Exciting!

We had a great weekend away in Tutukaka

We just got back from a spectacular weekend on the Tutukaka coast in New Zealand. It was Auckland Anniversairy weekend which means we had the Monday off. We camped with my family and in-laws for two nights and had perfect weather the entire time.

I love weekends like this as they remind me of the important things like spending time with family and help me to appreciate the things that are easy to take for granted. Like taking the time to relax and unwind with the people closest to you.

Here’s a shot of one of the highlights of the weekend. The waves weren’t huge, but we had a great time playing in the surf on the SUP (stand up paddle) boards.

OTHER STUFF

What else?

Well, I’m reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. I just finished the second book in the Millenium series (The Girl Who Played with Fire) in preparation for this book. Last time I tried to read it I couldn’t get through it. This time, I’m determined to finish!

Hayley and I booked a trip back to Bali for August this year. In fact, we’re going back to the exact same hotel we stayed at last time. We had such a good time last September we just couldn’t resist going back this year!

We have another long weekend coming up this weekend as it’s Waitangi Day on Monday. That’s two 4-day work-weeks back to back… YUS!

As always, please leave me a comment below and let me know what you’re getting up to!
